SsangYong Motor UK, the importer of SsangYong cars, is to sponsor touchtennis - touchtennis.com, one of the country’s newest and growing racquet sports.

The SsangYong Masters event will take place between 10am - 6pm on Sunday 30 August, when over 40 of the country’s top players will compete for the title.

The event is part of a weekend of touchtennis which includes demonstration matches and ‘have a go’ sessions for all ages, and is being held in conjunction with The Phoenix Festival - phoenix-festival.co.uk.

Said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK:  “We are delighted to offer our support to this burgeoning sport which is attracting interest from all ages, and hope everyone has a lot of fun.”

Added Philip Reynolds, event organiser, “We are hugely grateful to SsangYong.  This is the second year of the event, and we are anticipating four of the country’s top ten players will compete in the tournament.  The tennis world is showing great interest in this new sport, not least as it is a means of getting more people involved, and especially at a grass-roots level.”
