Ssangyong Rexton 2017- Could this be the ultimate caravan companion?
The new flagship four-wheel drive SUV in the Ssangyong range is being billed was the ‘best value tow car on the market.’
Ssangyong is one of those companies that often goes under the radar in the UK.
You don’t see many of the cars driving on Britain’s streets and many are unaware of the company.
The new Rexton however may just be a car that gets people to pay attention to them.
Ssangyong’s flagship 4x4 could be the caravan enthusiasts dream as its towing capacity has been increased to 3,500kg.
This towing ability has been approved by the VCA - the UK Vehicle Certification Agency responsible for Vehicle Type Approval.

Powering the Rexton is a 2.2-litre Euro 6 turbo diesel engine, which is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a Mercedes-Benz seven-speed automatic transmission.
This produces 178PS, 400Nm of torque and CO2 emissions of 184g/km.
Fuel economy is reasonable averaging 40mpg, which is likely to be reduced when towing.
Its tough new steel ladder chassis and body-on-frame construction is what makes it so strong and helps it be such a solid tower and off-roader.
Available with both five and seven-seat too it could be a perfect companion for growing families.
The Rexton range is fitted with the range topping ELX trim which features beige/grey leather interior, new multi-function leather covered steering wheel, distinctive 18” Diamond cut alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, front and rear parking sensors, auto-dipping rear view mirror, heated rear seats and Sat Nav.
Prices for the SUV start at £22,995, up to a £28,995.
