SsangYong’s pick-up goes ton-up
SsangYong has increased the payload capacity of its Korando Sports pick-up to over a tonne.
The new version can now carry loads of up to 1,050kg, thanks to uprated progressive springs in the multi-link rear suspension – the Korando being the only pick-up with a multi-link setup.
Other practical aspects of the Korando Sports pick-up includes a Euro pallet-sized load deck of 2.04 square metres, with a liner and anchor points, and a towing capacity of 2.7 tonnes.
The cabin accommodates five and amongst the equipment are air conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity.
Power comes from a 2-litre Euro 5 diesel engine of 153bhp and 266lbft of torque on offer between 1500 and 2800rpm.
The Korando Sports costs from £14,995 plus VAT and includes a five-year warranty. SX models include 16-inch alloy wheels, tinted glass, air conditioning, a leather covered steering wheel, remote central locking, Kenwood MP3 CD & RDS radio with a USB & auxiliary port and speed-sensitive power assisted steering.
EX models, at £2,000 more than the SX, gain 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, powered driver’s seat, heated, electrically adjustable and power folding door mirrors and rear parking sensors.
A six-speed automatic transmission with cruise control is also available as an option on the EX, at £1,500 extra.
